VSU Struggles to Regain Momentum in Loss to Bowie State



Ettrick, VA- Your Virginia State Trojans (12-6) take on the Bowie State Bulldogs (10-10).


VSU starts the game off fast with a score by Jared White and a steal by Kendall Bynum. After their quick start momentum slows up, by the time they call the first timeout VSU trails the Bulldogs by five points. This quarter saw the Trojans go down by as much as nine points. With a little over eight minutes to play in the 1^st half, their deficit was five points. A made three-pointer by Jared White cuts the Bulldog's lead to just three points. BSU's Justin Morrisey continues his first-half onslaught with another three, putting Bowie State back up by six points. The Trojans trail by 12 at the end of the first half.
 
Daryl Mackey Jr gets the Trojans started in the quarter with an and-1 to cut the lead to 9 points. Bowie State's Morrisey still has the hot hand, his jumper puts the Bulldogs back up by 12 points. The Trojans are never able to take the momentum back. Bowie State steamrolls Virginia State 85-65.
 
Their next game is Saturday against Elizabeth City State University.
