Stone Mountain, Ga. (Sept. 24, 2024)- The Virginia State University Golf team competed in the HBCU golf Invitational over the past two days. After sitting in third place after day one VSU slipped to fourth in the final standings.Â
David Chavez (76, 74) continues his strong start to the season as he finished in eighth place shooting 10 over par. Freshman Felipe Montero (76, 79) just missed out of the top 10 as he was in a three-person tie for 13th at +15. Roan Sidhu (80, 79) rounded out the top 20 finishers as he shot a +19. Juan Ruiz-Patino (81, 84) and Tylen Wallace (83, 82), who competed as an individual, both finished in a five-person tie at 26th shooting +25. Michael McIntosh (83, 87) was in 35th place shooting +30 to round out all the Trojan golfers.Â
VSU will round out the fall tournament schedule September 30 and October 1st at the Bluefield State University Tournament.Â
