Hawks Soar Over Trojans for the Victory
Murfreesboro, NC. – The Virginia State University Women's Soccer went against the Hawks of Chowan University on October 2, 2024, with a loss of 1-8. Based on this loss Trojans are now 0-6-2 while Chowan Hawks are now 2-5-1.
The Hawks took control early in the game, with Mya Turner scoring the first goal at the 20:57 mark, assisted by Abigail Simon. Just three minutes later, Simon added another goal, further establishing Chowan's lead. Natasha Bailey then scored at 25:02, again assisted by Simon, putting the Hawks ahead 3-0.
Alana Martin managed to get one back for VSU at 28:02, scoring off an assist from
Sasha Fields, but Chowan responded quickly. Laura Hulme found the net at 29:16, followed by Regan Jackson's goal just before halftime at 45:29, both assisted by Bailey.
The second half continued to favor the Hawks, with Bailey scoring her second goal at 49:25, assisted by Turner. Simon completed her impressive performance with a goal at 51:57, assisted by Hulme. Kali Booker capped off the scoring for Chowan with a final goal at 82:29, assisted by Takiyah Raynor.
What's Next
Despite the heavy loss, the Trojans will need to regroup quickly, as they prepare for their next match against Shaw University on October 5, 2024. The team is hopeful for a turnaround as they aim to build momentum and regain confidence in the upcoming contest.
