Petersburg, VA—The Virginia State Women's Soccer team hosts the Bluefield State University Big Blue on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 1 p.m. The match-up ended in a tie of 3-3. For now, the Trojans' overall record is 1-8-3, while Big Blue's is now 2-5-3.
 
 The scoring kicked off early, with VSU's Loryn Srurgis netting a goal just 1 minute and 23 seconds into the match. The quick start set the tone for an exciting game. Bluefield responded at the 13:23 mark, with Carmen Galante scoring her first goal, assisted by Rachel Major. Galante continued to shine, adding her second game goal at 21:44, putting Bluefield in the lead.

However, VSU wasn't done yet. Morgan Parris leveled the score with a well-placed shot at 22:00, assisted by Skye Dixon. The first half ended with a nail-biting 2-2 score.

The second half saw Bluefield's Sayen Santana break the tie at 50:24, scoring her team's third goal. The Trojans, showing resilience, fought back and managed to equalize again with Damaris Gaines' goal at 80:06, assisted by Orisha Gist.
