Virginia State Suffers Heavy Defeat Against Mount OliveĀ
Petersburg, VA- On Wednesday, October 23, the Virginia State Women's Soccer team faced off against the University of Mount Olive at 3 PM. Unfortunately for the Trojans, the match ended in a decisive loss, bringing their record to 1-9-3, while Mount Olive improved to 7-3-3.
The game kicked off with both teams looking to seize early momentum, but Mount Olive struck first. Emma Buda found the back of the net in the 10th minute, capitalizing on a strong offensive push. Just minutes later, Malia Acevedo doubled the lead with a goal assisted by Emily Hein, clearly establishing Mount Olive's intent to dominate.
Carmellina Chikuse further extended the home team's advantage with a third goal in the 31st minute. Despite some efforts from Virginia State, including shots from
