Ettrick, Va.- The Virginia State University women's soccer team dropped their second straight home game, 6-1 to the Shaw Lady Bears. Morgan Parris scored the first ever home goal for the Trojans at the 84th minute.
Shaw didn't take long to get on the scoreboard as they found the back of the next in the fourth minute and in the 13th minute of the match. The defense for the Trojans toughened up from there limiting the amount of shots on goal for the Lady Bears but they would find the net once more before the bell for halftime making it 3-0 at the half.
The second half saw VSU spend more time in their offensive half, but it was still Shaw who found a goal first at the 62nd minute. Then in the 79th and 83rd minute the Lady Bears added two more goals. Then just a minute later Parris made history scoring the first career home goal for the soccer program with a laser just over the goalkeeper.
VSU will be back in action tomorrow as they take on Eastern Mennonite University with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
