NORFOLK, VA – The Virginia State men's outdoor track and field team traveled over to Norfolk, VA to compete against top-tier talent in the Spartan Invitational.

100 Meters
Jaelan Black was able to finish 15^th of 42 after posting a 10.87. Tariq Garrison finished 42^nd behind his 12.21 finish.

200 Meters
Jaelan Black was able to finish 26^th of 47 after posting a 22.19. A place away came Bryce Jordan placing 28^th with his 22.42. Dacarai Clark finished in 36^th place posting a 23.21.

400 Meters
A pair of Trojans posted top-10 finishes in the 400. Bryce Jordan placed sixth of 25 behind his 49.53 while Dacarai Clark placed seventh while finishing in 49.79.

800
Jalen Brownlee posted a miraculous 1:55.19, which landed him second of 29. In 10^th place came Elijah Johnson who posted a 2:01.34. Next came Darrell Dyson, II who finished in 2:07.22, which allowed him to place 18^th.
 
1500
Elijah Johnson posted his second top-10 finish as he came in fifth place of 16 with his time of 4:11.56.
 
5000
Gabriel Miles finished eighth posting his 17:38.84.

110 Hurdles
John Williams placed 15^th of  18 posting a 16.64.
 
400 Hurdles
Savion Spencer posted a 59.52 which placed him 16^th.

High Jump
Joseph Briscoe covered 1.87 meters, which allowed him to tie for sixth of 12. Shaukeeme Watson tied for sixth as well with his 1.87-meter jump.
 
Pole Vault
Terry Morgan's best jump covered 2.90 meters which placed him sixth.

Long Jump
Shaukeeme's Watson longest jump covered 6.28 meters which placed him 18^th of 24.
 
Shot Put
Atrell Williams's throw of 15.65 meters placed him in second of 21. Devonte Moore's best throw covered 14.42 meters, which placed him in 5^th. In 9^th place came Isaiah Ramadane as his best throw covered 13.70 meters. Mark Banberger placed 10^th behind his 13.70-meter throw. Chrstian Boone went on to finish 16^th with his 12.10-meter throw,

Discus  
Atrell Williams earned his second top-5 finish of the day after his best toss covered 45.87 meters, which placed him third of 22. Mark Banberger was able to cover 45.17 meters with his best throw, which placed him fourth. Devonte Moore placed 11^th with his best covering 40.15 meters. With a throw 37.77 meters, Isaiah Ramadane was able to place 15^th.
