RALEIGH, NC – The VSU Volleyball team fought hard in every set but ultimately fell short 3-0 on the road at Shaw (25-22, 25-22, 25-13)

How It Happened
SET 1 | The first set got off to a unideal start for the Trojans after allowing the Bears to go on a 12-1 run to make it 13-3. The Trojans answered back with a five-point run of their own to make the score 13-8. Even though Shaw scored four of the next five points, the Trojans would not go away. VSU was able to pull the score to 24-19 before going on a four-point run to bring the score to 24-22. Unfortunately, Shaw was able to score the last point to take set one 25-22
SET 2 | Shaw opened up the following set with a 4-0 run. While the Trojans were able cut the lead down to a pair, Shaw answered back by stretching their lead back out to four at 12-8. The Trojans found late momentum scoring four of five points to make it 21-20. Feeling the pressure, the Bears went on a 4-2 run to end the set 25-22.
SET 3 | Unlike the first two set, the Trojans were the one to get out to a fast start after getting out to a 5-2 lead thanks to kills form
Kennedy Hoge,
Kennedy Hoge and
Kennedy Hoge. The Bears would then wake up and mount a 10-1 scoring run to make the score 13-8. While the Trojans fought to give themselves a chance, Shaw scored six points straight to make it 22-11. After scoring three of the last four points Shaw took the set 25-13 and ultimately the match.

The Trojans will end their regular season at Bowie State University on Monday, October 31 at 6:00 p.m.
