ETTRICK, V.A. – Virginia State women's basketball unveiled the Trojans full 2021-22 schedule .
VSU's non-conference slate features eight home games inside the multipurpose center, including the Thanksgiving Classic Nov. 26-27. VSU will also play four road games and are slated to participate in Indiana University of Pennsylvania's two-game tournament at the start of the season in November against the hosts and Seton Hill University (Pa.).
The Trojans will follow the opening tournament with their first game back in the Multipurpose center since 2019 against Southern Virginia University November 17.
VSU will follow their home opener with another home game against Regent University on November 17. Next up, the Trojans will host the Thanksgiving Classic taking on Penn State Great Allegheny on November 26 and Alderson Broaddus University on November 27. Coach Hill's squad will close out the month at home against Virginia University of Lynchburg on November 29.
December opens with a trip to Virginia Beach for a matchup against the Royals of Regent University on December 4. VSU will then return home for the first conference game of the season against St. Augustine's University on December 9.
The Bucs close out non-conference play for the time being with two games in a four-day span, starting at home against Shepard University on December 11 and ending at home against Wilmington University (Del.) on December 14.
Virginia State's 16-game CIAA slate will begin December 18 inside the Multipurpose center against Fayetteville State University who is picked to finish first in the conference. The squad will then take on the Panthers of Claflin University at home on December 20.
The start of 2022 will see the Trojans play four games in a week starting with four-game road trip at Washington Adventist University (Jan. 4), Winston-Salem State (Jan. 6), at Livingstone College (Jan. 8) and ends at Johnson C. Smith (Jan. 10).
Virginia Union will hit I-95 and head to the Multipurpose center January 15 while Shaw will make the trip up to the 804 on January 19.
January will end with trips to Elizabeth City State University (Jan. 22) and Bowie State University (Jan. 27) while ending at home against Lincoln University (Pa.) (Jan. 29).
February will start on the road at Virginia Union on February 5 before the last non-conference game of the season against Bluefield State College two days later on February 7. The Trojans will have a mid-week date on the road against Shaw University on February 10.
Virginia State will return home to play Elizabeth City State February 12 prior to Senior Night against Bowie State on February 16. The last game of the season will be at Lincoln University on February 19.
The 2022 CIAA Basketball Championships will be held in Baltimore, Maryland for the first time ever. The Trojans will head to Royal Farms Arena February 22-26 with the first round of action tipping off February 23.
