NEW KENT, VA (April 18, 2019)- The Virginia State University golf team rounded out day 1 of the 2019 CIAA Championship with a team score of 345. Of the 8 teams competing for the Championship Title, the Trojans are currently in 7th place.

Nicholas Williams led the Trojans on the course with 5-way 19^th place tie of 84. Darian Exum and Jared Jones were not too far behind with a 5-way 25th place tie of 86 .Isaiah Belton swung in with a 30th place score of 89, while Zahmel Wright rounded out the day with a 3-way 33^rd place tie of 95.

The Trojans will return to the course for day 2 of the 2019 CIAA Championship on April 19. The first tee time is set for 9am at the Course at Viniterra in New Kent, VA.
