ETTRICK, VA (September 4, 2018) - The Virginia State University Trojan volleyball team fell to the Rams of Shepherd University in a 3-0 matchup tonight.

The seniors took charge of the kills for the team with Myia Jones collecting 5 and Hailey Heyward and Tiara Ramey tallying 4. Collecting an ace each, Heyward, Jailyn Jones and Kennedi Cannon added points to the board for VSU. Myia Jones and Bria Anderson are also credited for a single block in favor of VSU.

The Trojans were not able gain control of set 1 taking a 25-12.

VSU attempted to battle back in set 2 with the score tying 12 times. The battle did not work in the Trojans favor as the Rams took the set, 25-20.

Set 3 mimicked set 1 as the Trojans were not able to collected points, taking a 25-12 loss in the set and the game.

The Trojans currently hold a 6-3 overall record as they prepare for their next competition.

VSU will return to action on September 8-9, as they host the 2018 CIAA Volleyball Round-up 1 at the VSU Multipurpose Center. The first serve is set for 10am.
