ETTRICK, Va. – The No. 1 seed Virginia State University men's basketball team will face the No.8 seed Virginia Union University in its opening round of the 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Atlantic Region Championship hosted by Virginia State University on Saturday, March 10 at 5 p.m. at the VSU Multipurpose Center.

The matchup between the Trojans and the Panthers will be carried live on WVST 91.3 FM HERE.

The Trojans enter Saturday's game with a 24-4 overall record while the Panthers are 18-14 overall. The contest will be the fourth meeting between the two squads this season. The first meeting was on January 14 where the Trojans secured an 82-72 victory over the Panthers at the Richmond Coliseum.  The Trojans then defeated Virginia Union 60-57 on February 7 at the VSU Multipurpose Center. VSU faced the Panthers in the semifinals round of the 2018 CIAA Basketball Tournament where the Trojans fell 52-67 to Virginia Union.
