RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 17, 2018)– The Virginia State University men's basketball team secured its second victory over St. Augustine's University 70-51 in a non-conference men's basketball matchup between two CIAA schools at Emery Gymnasium on Saturday.

Cyonte Melvin led the way for the Trojans with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Cedric Wiggins was VSU's second leading scorer with adding 13 points and two rebounds. VSU improves to 2-2 on the year, while the Falcons fall to 2-1 overall.

- VSU shot 37.5 percent from the field; St. Augustine's shot 31.9 percent
- Virginia hit eight triples (32 percent); St. Augustine's knocked down three threes on 16.7 percent shooting
- The Trojans were 14-for-29 at the free throw line while the Falcons were 18-for-30
- VSU held a 52-37 rebounding advantage; the Falcons had 14 turnovers to VSU's 10
