PHILIDEPHIA, Pa.- The VSU Trojans men's outdoor track and field team were on the road April 28-30 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, PA for the 2016 Penn Relays.
The VSU Track & Field team took their largest contingent to the Penn Relays in six years and they didn't disappoint.
Led by junior
Richard Crick with his bronze medal performance in the Triple Jump Championship, the Trojans were impressive the entire weekend. Crick had a personal best jump of 15.01m in the preliminary rounds to advance to the Championship Final. There, Crick leaped to a mark of 15.29m (50' 2"), earning him the bronze medal and securing his place at the NCAA Championships.
"Coach Robert Davis and Crick have been working very hard this year," said head coach Jason-Lamont Jackson. "He had an injury which hampered his indoor season so it was great to watch them interact today to earn a medal and qualify for nationals."
Crick and several of his VSU teammates look to move up with two competitions left before the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships in May.
