RESULTS
RICHMOND, Va.- The VSU Trojans men's outdoor track and field team had a strong start to their 2016 season during their season opener at the VCU Rams Invite.
Under the leadership of Jason-Lamont Jackson, the men collected 7 first place finished in their respective events.
Sophomore
Dajawn Williams secured a first place finish in the pole vault with a height of 3.15M. He also finished first in the high jump with a range of 1.89M. Senior
Zakari Greene took the men's triple jump win with a range of 13.41M.
In the track events, senior
Justin Williams placed first in the 110M Hurdle with a time of 14.40 while sophomore
Devon Thompson ran in with the 1
st place time of 49.83 in the 400M relay. Sophomore
Travis Henderson claimed the 200M relay with a time of 21.86. The 4x100 relay quartet
Tyrone Royal,
Avontae Ferguson,
Lawrence Harris and
Travis Henderson ran in with a number 1 time of 41.95.
After a great start to the season, VSU will travel to Richmond, VA on March 25-26 for the Univ. of Richmond Fred Hardy Invite.
