ALLENDALE, MI - The Virginia State University Trojans wrapped up their season with 4 All-American Honors after competing at the 2015 NCAA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship on May 21-23.
Senior
Justin Williams (Norfolk, Va.), senior
Clive Cameron (Alexandria, Va.), junior
Te'Shad Chambers (Highland Springs, Va.) and rookie
Devon Thompson (Highland Springs, Va.) worked together and placed 9
th in the preliminaries of the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:13.30. The Trojans improved their timing in the final round finishing 7
th and giving them each an All-American honor with a time of 3:10.79.
This season, the quartet took the top honor at the Liberty Twilight with a time of 3:15.15 and finished 2nd in the Duke Twilight with a time of 3:11.07.
In their respective events, Chambers finished 19
th in the 200M dash with a time of 21.69 and placed 14
th in the 400M dash with a time of 48.40. During the VCU Rams Invite this season, Chambers placed 1st in the 400M dash with a time of 47.33.
Williams jumped into the 16
th spot in the 400M hurdles with a time of 54.27. This season, Williams placed 2nd at the 2015 CIAA Championships in the 400M hurdles with a time of 52.60.
The Trojans currently have 138 track and field All-American honors. Of those honors, Chambers and Cameron each have 6, Williams has collected 3 while Thompson gains his first.
