The Virginia State University women's tennis team takes another victory as they defeated Southern Virginia University on Tuesday, March 11 in Ettrick, VA.
VSU took the first two sets in the doubles.
Brittany Uzzell and
Zaire Simmons defeat SVU for the 8-1 victory.
Kayla Kale and
Nakesha Harry came out with a 8-3 win. In the last double set,
Sharmane Tonkins and
Jessica Smith could not break even with their 8-4 loss.
VSU was on fire winning 5 of their 6 single sets.
Zaire Simmons,
Brittany Uzzell and
Nakesha Harry swept the first three single sets.
Sharmane Tonkins and
Kayla Kale dominated their single sets while
Jessica Smith tried to hold on but suffered a loss in the final set.
The score at the end of the match was 7-2 giving VSU a 3-0 record. The women will be back on March 14 to play Shaw University at home at 2:00PM.
