The Virginia State Trojan volley ball team took just over an hour to defeat the Lions of Lincoln, Pa. 25-16, 25-13 and 27-25 in CIAA volleyball action. The Virginia State Trojan victory moves the team record to 9-7 overall and 6-1 in the conference.
Senior
Aubree Parker led the Trojans to victory with a team-high 10 kills and 24 total attacks. Junior
Whitley Bradley followed with 9 kills and 22 attacks. Freshman
Diamond Simpson recorded a match high 28 assists for theTrojans to go along with 2 service aces. Sophomore
Imani Wood paced Virginia State with a team high 13 digs followed by fellow teammates
Whitley Bradley and
Adriana Hazou with 11 digs.
Lincoln (2-10, 2-9 CIAA) was led by Cynthia Johnson with eight kills and 27 total attacks. Kyra Orton tallied 4 service aces for the Lady Lions to go along and 8 digs. Shanna King led her team with 15 assists while teammate Sydney Cook recorded a match-high 15 digs in the loss
Virginia State returns to Daniels Gymnasium, Thursday (October 10th) hosting the Bulldogs of Bowie State University.
