Jaelyn Jackson is entering her first season as Virginia State University's Assistant Volleyball Coach.

Prior to coming to VSU, Coach Jackson was the Head Coach/Mentor of the Waco Lady Lightening Girls' Volleyball Club from 2016 to 2018. After a brief two year hiatus, Jackson was named the Head Coach of the Steward School JV Volleyball team in 2020. She went on to coach the Old Dominion Volleyball Academy Girls' 17U National team later that year.

Coach Jackson attended the powerhouse 804 high school, Matoaca High in Chesterfield, Virginia. During her high school career, Jackson earned First Team All-District, Second Team All-Metro and District MVP in 2014. Among a plethora of college scholarship offers, Jackson decided to attend Baylor University in Waco, Texas. After redshirting in 2015, Jackson accumulated 115 blocks and 130 kills while averaging 1.15 blocks per set. Coach Jackson was the Baylor S.A.C.E Champion of the Month award.

Coach Jackson made the decision to transfer closer to home for Graduate school after enrolling in Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Jackson ironically felt right at home with the Rams as she average a .364 hitting percentage, 1.92 blocks per set and 293 points in only a year of play at VCU.

Jackson is a native of Chesterfield, Virginia and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2018 at Baylor before earning her Master's in Sports Leadership in 2020.
