MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (Sept. 5, 2026) – The Virginia State University men's cross country team competed Saturday at the Spider Alumni Open, continuing its 2026 season against a competitive field in the 5K race.

Emmanuel Williams led the Trojans, finishing 62nd overall with a final time of 17:22.0.

Virginia State also received performances from Tyler Roberts, who finished 80th with a time of 23:13.1, and Montez Dockery, who placed 83rd at 23:24.1. Alijah Koonce crossed the finish line in 24:22.0, followed by Matthew Young at 24:41.9. Carrington Jones rounded out the Trojan finishers shown in the results, recording a time of 26:25.0.
