WINSTON-SALEM, NC --The Virginia State volleyball team needed only three sets (25-16, 25-22, 25-15) to defeat the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls Friday at Whitaker Gymnasium .
The victory moved the Trojans' record to 6-7 overall and 4-0 in CIAA action.
Gracie Darville finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Trojans attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .364. got 15 digs from Kellee Craig to lead them defensively.

The Trojans scored first and never trailed in set five to earn the victory. Virginia State opened up as much as an eight point lead at 13-5 before closing out the set.
