Ettrick, Va. (Apr. 19, 2025)- The Virginia State University Women's Lacrosse team capped off season two with a 21-7 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan College (2-13) where 11 different Trojans scored a goal.
The Trojans started out scoring seven goals. Carea Tuck scored 15 seconds into the game then Kayla Carroll-Williams and Sophia Toye scored before a minute was off the clock. The Bobcats scored three goals within four minutes then in the final minute of the stanza Unique Anthony and Carroll-Williams scored to make it 11-3 after the first 15 minutes. In the second period VSU would get to the running clock, and it would stay in effect the rest of the game. The Trojans scored the first five goals in the period with Toye's goal making it a 10-goal advantage at 13-3. WVWC would get four more goals, but Virginia State would end the season with Hollie Grimes and Morgan Morris scoring their first goals of their careers. Ilyanna Jones finished her freshman campaign with 102 total saves.
VSU ends their season on a two-game winning streak and a 4-7 overall record.
