Three Trojans earn CSC All-District Honors; Kweti and Harris selected as finalist for Academic All-American

Ettrick, Va. (Mar. 26, 2025)- Three members othe the Virginia State University Women's Basketball team have earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Tiyanna James, Carmen Kweti and Anii Harris have all earned the distinction this season. 

To be eligible for the All-District team the player must've played in 90% of the games or started in 60% and hold a GPA of 3.5 or above. 

James is a senior guard who played in 30 games with 25 starts. She aversged 8.7 points per game. She is a member of the VSU Orange Team for having a GPA of 4.0. 

Kweti is a junior forward who played in 29 games with 23 starts. She averaged 6.7 points per game while bringing down 11.8 rebounds per game. She also broke the single season rebounding record with 342 total. She also was on the All-CIAA back court team and was the CIAA Defensive Player of the Year. During her first semester at VSU she earned a 4.0 GPA. 

Harris is a senior guard who played in all 30 games with 29 starts. She led the team with 15.4 points per game. She was a member of the All-CIAA front court team. During her first semester at VSU she earned a 4.0 GPA. 

Both Kweti and Harris have advanced to be Academic All-Americans which are voted on by member of the CSC which will be announced on Wednesday April 16.
