Ettrick, Va. (Mar. 25, 2025)- The Virginia State University baseball team dropped a mid week game to Barton College 12-0 in seven innings.Â
Neither team would get a base runner in the first inning. Then in the bottom of the second Jaquan Tucker walked and then advanced to third after back-to-back wild pitches but he would be stranded there. The Bulldogs would score the first run of the game in the top if the first after back-to-back doubles to open the frame. BC would open up the game after scoring seven runs in the top of the fourth on four hits making it 8-0. In the bottom half of the frame Victor Johnson hit a double with two outs. Barton added runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. In the bottom half of the seventh Erik Romero had a double down the right field line for the final Trojan hit.Â
With the loss VSU drops to 2-12 and will welcome Lincoln University for a double header on Saturday March 29 at 1 pm.Â
