Carmen Kweti Named Women's Defensive Player of the Year and All-CIAA Frontcourt

Among the standout honorees, Virginia State's Carmen Kweti has truly captured the spotlight. She was recognized as an All-CIAA Frontcourt selection and named the Women's Defensive Player of the Year for her outstanding performance this season.


The formidable Carmen Kweti from Fredrick, MD, has arrived at Virginia State with an unwavering determination to excel on the basketball court. A standout forward, Kweti has made her mark on defense, boasting career-high stats of 204 rebounds, 26 blocks, 45 steals, and 177 points. Her defensive prowess is undeniable, as she ranks number two in the nation for defensive rebounds and has showcased her skill with four double-double performances this season. Kweti has earned the All-CIAA Frontcourt award and the prestigious title of the 2024-2025 Women's Defensive Player of the Year, solidifying her status as a dominant force in the league.
