Ettrick, Va (Sept. 6, 2024)- The Virginia State University Football team travels to former CIAA opponent Norfolk State on a short week as they played Sunday against Benedict. Last season the Trojans won after a last second field goal attempt for the Spartans was botched and returned for a touchdown by Dante Clark.
VSU is coming off a huge win against Benedict College 23-7 in the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic. Jimmyll Williams had an 82-yard touchdown run, and Kevin Gayles had a 51-yard receiving touchdown.
NSU comes into the game 0-2 with a close loss to FAMU, 24-23 and a loss to East Carolina 42-3. In the ECSU loss the Spartans defense managed to force six turnovers, three turnovers and three fumbles.
