Petersburg, VA – The Virginia State University Women's Soccer team faced a challenging game against Chowan University, ultimately falling short with a 6-0 defeat. This loss leaves the Trojans with a record of 0-2-0, while Chowan improves to 1-2-0.

The match, held in Petersburg, Virginia, was marked by high-paced action and intense competition. Virginia State started with optimism, including an early shot by Morgan Paris that was saved by Chowan's goalkeeper, Kirsten Petersen. However, the Hawks' offense quickly took control, scoring their first goal just 6 minutes and 50 seconds into the game. Despite the Trojans' efforts to regain momentum, including a notable attempt by Damaris Gaines, Chowan scored three more goals before the end of the first half, demonstrating their attacking prowess.

As the second half began, the Trojans were determined to turn the game around. They launched several attacks, with Damaris Gaines making two attempts and Carra Fitzgerald taking a shot that was saved as a team effort by Chowan's defense. Despite these efforts, Chowan continued their dominance, adding two more goals to their tally.
