Roanoke, Va (July 17, 2024)- The CIAA conference has announced the preseason conference poll with Virginia State football team grabbing the top spot.  

Last season the Trojans were picked to finish fifth in the conference and finished third behind Virginia Union and Fayetteville State. This season, the Trojans will play the teams placed second through sixth this year. Virginia Union in second, Fayetteville State in third, Johnson C. Smith in fourth, Bowie State in fifth, and Winston Salem-State in sixth place. 

In addition, Bruno Onwuazor was named to the preseason All-CIAA team. Last season he earned Second-Team All-CIAA
