Salisbury, N.C. (Apr. 13, 2024)- The Virginia State University men's lacrosse team traveled down to Catawba College and dropped the penultimate game in their inaugural season 21-6.
In the first half the Trojans only managed five shots compared to the 40 shots by Catawba that produced 13 of goals to give them a 13-0 lead going into halftime. Miles Jackson would finally get VSU on the board at the 10:32 mark in the third quarter. Kalani Laughlin would add another goal in the third quarter. Jackson would score his second goal of the quarter, but the Trojans would go into the final stanza down 16-3. Andre Bigham, Devray Kirkland II and Laughlin added goals in the fourth quarter, but Catawba managed to win the game.
With the loss VSU is now 1-9 and Catawba improves to 7-7. The team will play their final game of the season on Saturday April 20 as they go to Wheeling University at 5 pm.
