Harrogate, Tenn. (Feb. 6, 2024)- Playing their first game in program history the Virginia State University men's lacrosse team played a game at Lincoln Memorial but was defeated 22-5 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Trojans found themselves down 5 goals early in the first quarter before Kalani Laughlin scored the first goal in program history assisted by Donovan Elmore. After all was said in down after the opening 15 minutes VSU trailed 8-1. Lincoln Memorial never looked back, winning 22-5, but there were bright spots for Virginia State.
VSU scored in every quarter and had four different players net a goal, Laughlin with two, Andre Bigham in the second, Devray Kirkland II in the third and Bill Lee in the fourth periods respectfully. Tyrone Jones had a game high nine ground balls.
LMU is now 2-0 while VSU drops to 0-1. Next the team will play at Mars Hill University on Saturday February 10 at 3 pm.
