The Short Story: The Trojan defense put on a show despite the loss, as they made a plethora of miraculous defensive plays to give themselves a chance to win. Unfortunately, the Trojans struggled hitting after accumulating just three hits in the 2-1 loss in nine innings of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Trojans scored the first run of the ball game in the bottom sixth inning after Norman Jackson brought Liam Simpson home to score on a sacrifice fly ball to right field to make the score 1-0.
- The Rams would go on to strike back in the top of the seventh inning on an RBI single in the left field.
- The Trojans were held scoreless in the bottom of the eighth inning while the Rams went up 2-1 following a sacrifice fly ball into left field.

The Short Story:Christian Henderson was dealing on the mound in the win as he sent six batters back to the dugout with just 1 walk in seven innings of work. Henderson earned his first career complete game victory and shutout in the 6-0 win.

- Christian Henderson is proving himself to be the ace of the stacked VSU pitching rotation after earning his first complete game victory and shutout. Henderson struck out six, walked just one and allowed just four hits in seven innings of play.
- Ricky Jones led the team with 2-4 effort including a double along with a run scored and an RBI.
- Tahraun Hammond scored a run, drove in a run and drew a walk in the win

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Trojans commanded the lead in their first opportunity in the bottom of the first inning. Morris Ford, Jr. earned the RBI after drawing a bases loaded walk to bring Liam Simpson in to score. Ryan Messer reach first on a fielder's choice as Ricky Jonesscored the Trojans second run. Norman Jackson also reach on a fielder's choice but was able to driveDawsyn Hock in to score to make it 3-0.
- The bottom of the second inning saw the Trojans add to their lead after Morris Ford, Jr. drew yet another bases loaded walk to score Avante Banksto make the score 4-0.
- The Trojans were able to add insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Tahraun Hammond drove Bryce Wilmoth in to score after an error by the Shepherd short stop. Ricky Jones belted a single into left field to scoreTahraun Hammond to make the score 6-0
