Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

VSU drops defensive game 1-0

Ettrick, Va.- The Virginia State women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 match to Carolina University inside Roger stadium.

In the first half both teams struggled to find any offense as only 4 shots on goal were taken, one for the Trojans and three for the Bruins. However, the second half featured more overall shots and Carlina University scored the only goal of the game. After a foul was called inside the box and rewarded the Bruins with a penalty kick and they slotted it in the back of the net.

The Trojans would answer with three straight shots one went high and two were saved. That was the best shot for the Trojans as they would only get one more opportunity from a free kick that was saved.

With the loss VSU dropped to 2-6-2, while the Bruins improved to 5-4-1. The next matchup will see the team take on North Carolina Wesleyan College on October 11 with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
