ETTRICK, VA- The Virginia State University women's basketball team will host the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University on Jan. 21. The contest is set for 3:00pm at the VSU Multipurpose Center. This match up is marked as "Saint Paul's College Day," as the Trojans honor the legacy and impact of the former Virginia HBCU.

Series History
The VSU Trojans are 14-11 against the ECSU Lady Vikings in the series. The teams met last season during 2022 CIAA Basketball Tournament, where VSU fell short of win with a final score of 57-53.

The Trojans are 8-9 on the season, 4-4 in the CIAA, under the leadership of VSU's 1^st year head coach Nadine Domond. On Jan 18, VSU fell short of a win against Shaw with a final score of 54-43. ECSU is 10-6 on the season, 4-4 in the CIAA after a Jan. 18 loss to Bowie State University. The Lady Vikings are averaging 63.5 points per game while allowing 56.7. Collectively, they are shooting 37% from the field, 26% from three-point range and 65% from the foul line. ECSU averages 39.8 rebounds and 11.4 assists per game. They also are averaging 19 turnovers per game while allowing opponents to score 15 points off of turnovers. They have averaged 8.5 steals and 3.6 blocks on the season. NyAsia Blango leads the Lady Vikings averaging 7.4 points per game, while Sireann Pitts controls the ECSU boards with 7.3 rebounds per game. Naomie Lockamy leads the team in assists with 2 per game.
