VSU Women’s Basketball Set to Host the ECSU Lady Vikings on Jan. 21

ETTRICK, VA- The Virginia State University women's basketball team will host the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University on Jan. 21. The contest is set for 3:00pm at the VSU Multipurpose Center. This match up is marked as "Saint Paul's College Day," as the Trojans honor the legacy and impact of the former Virginia HBCU.

Series History
The VSU Trojans are 14-11 against the ECSU Lady Vikings in the series. The teams met last season during 2022 CIAA Basketball Tournament, where VSU fell short of win with a final score of 57-53.

The Trojans are 8-9 on the season, 4-4 in the CIAA, under the leadership of VSU's 1st year head coach Nadine Domond. On Jan 18, VSU fell short of a win against Shaw with a final score of 54-43. They also are averaging 19 turnovers per game while allowing opponents to score 15 points off of turnovers. They have averaged 8.5 steals and 3.6 blocks on the season. NyAsia Blango leads the Lady Vikings averaging 7.4 points per game, while Sireann Pitts controls the ECSU boards with 7.3 rebounds per game.
