ETTRICK, VA. – The HBCU D2 Football Coaches Poll Powered by BOXTOROW released its Week Four Rankings on Tuesday as Virginia State moved up a spot to #5 after a big-time conference victory against Livingstone. 

 

The fifth-place ranking comes after the Trojans bested Livingstone 37-7 on the brand-new blue field turf of the Blue Bears.


Virginia Union edged Fayetteville State 31-28 to stay unbeaten and remain No. 1 among D2 HBCU's. Bowie State State moved up to the sixth spot after defeating St. Augustine's 36-20. Fayetteville State fell from no. 5 to no. 7 after losing to Virginia Union 28-31. Shaw continues to fly under the radar as they moved up from no.9 to no.8 after a solid win against Elizabeth City State 35-16.

The Trojans will be right back in Rogers Stadium next week for a huge CIAA clash between the Trojans and the Bears of Shaw University (2-2, 2-0 CIAA) which is also "Trojans Kids Day" as well as pink out day. Kick off is set for Saturday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m.
