ETTRICK, VA – The Trojans are looking to stay hot and continue their streak of winning seven out of their last eight matches as they travel to Bowie, MD to partake in the first CIAA Volleyball Roundup of the 2022 season. They are set to face off against Livingstone College, the reigning CIAA Champions in Fayetteville State University, and undefeated Claflin University. The Trojans have won two straight and look to take charge of the Northern Division. Matches will be played in A.C. Jordan Arena which is court one and Theordore McKeldin Gym which will be court two.
Match Details
The Trojans are set to play a pair of matches on Saturday, September 24 with the first match starting at 11:00 a.m. against Livingstone on court two while the second game is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. against Fayetteville State on court two as well. The Trojans will wrap up their weekend Sunday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m. against Claflin on court two.
Last Time Out
The Trojans won in yet another sweeping fashion as they traveled and defeated Lincoln University 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-18).
Helena Eubanks led the Trojans offensive attack as she landed 11 kills with a .526 hitting percentage which is the best of the season. Eubanks also earned a personal best four blocks in he win. Makenzy earned a team and season-high seven aces in the win along with a team-high 15 assists.
Najlaa Williams controlled the defensive efforts as she turned in yet another efficient match with nine digs. The team also finished with a season-high .200 hitting percentage and 16 service aces.

Scouting Fayetteville State: The Broncos are offensively led by Bailey Robinson who has a team-high in kills with 84 which ranks her third in the CIAA. Jaida Bynum leads the team in assists with 184 which also ranks her third. Defensively, they are led by Jordan Johnson who has a team-high in digs with 108 which ranks her fifth in the conference. Xiamana Spikes leads the team in blocks with 28 which makes her second in the conference.
Scouting Claflin: The Panthers are offensively led by Simone Newell who has a team-high 55 kills as her .322 hitting percentage ranks her fifth in the conference. Erin Preston leads the team in assists with 89. Defensively they are led by Jasmine Kirkland who has a team-high in digs with 90 which puts her firmly in fourth spot.
