ETTRICK, VA – The Virginia State Women's Cross-Country team finished in first place over five teams in attendance in the Virginia State University Trojan Cross Country Invitational 5k Friday afternoon.
The VSU Women's Cross-Country team earned 19 points with an average time of 21:01.
Manuelene Deigh was the first Trojan to finish the race after setting a new personal best of 20:16.2 with a 6:31.4 mile split, which placed her in first place of 38 competitors.
A place away came her twin sister
Manuela Deigh who finished in a time of 20:35.9 with a 6.37.7 which also gave her a new personal best.
Alandina Hyppolite finished her race in a personal record 21:15.4, with a 6:50.5 mile split which gave her a fourth place finish.
Shashauna Valentine also earned herself a personal record as she finished in fifth place after posting 21:19.5, with a 6:51.8 mile split.
Ruby WIlliams finished her race in 21:41.8 with a 6:59.0 mile split which gave her a seventh place finish and a new personal best.
Sania Peterson concluded her race in 22:29.3 with a 7:14.2 mile split which placed her in 10
th place.
Emoni Coleman finished in 12
th posting a time of 24:10.9 with a 7:46.9 mile split in his her first 5k race.
Jordan Burzynski rounded out her race in 14
th place behind a time of 25:01.0 with a 8:03.0 mile split.
The Trojans Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams will be right back in in Richmond on Friday, October 14 to take place in the Panther Invitational starting at approximately 4:00 p.m.
