ETTRICK, VA – The Virginia State Men's Cross-Country team finished in third place in the Virginia State University Invitational 8k Friday afternoon.
The VSU men's Cross-Country team earned 54 points, which placed them third.
JaPrince Gaines, Jr. was the first Trojan to finish the race setting a new personal best of 27:40.9 with a 5:34.1 mile split, which placed him in first place of 28 competitors. This is the third straight meet Gaines earned a personal best and a first place finish.
Next came
Gabriel Miles who finished in a time of 29:30.1 with a 5.56.1 split which placed him in seventh place.
Jalen Brownlee finished his race with a time of 29:33.9, with a 5:56.8 mile split which gave him an eight place finish.
Dacarai Clark finished in 21
st place after completing his race in in 34:45.0, with a 6.59.4 mile split.
Kavonte Dawson finished in 32:02.9 with a 7.15.1 mile split which gave him a 26
th place finish as well as a new personal best.
The Trojans Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams will be right back in in Richmond on Friday, October 14 to take place in the Panther Invitational starting at approximately 5:15 p.m.
