ETTRICK, VA – The Virginia State Men's Cross-Country team finished in first place over Virginia Union yet again this week in the Virginia Union University Cross Country Opener 8k Friday afternoon..
The VSU men's Cross-Country team earned 24 points, which placed them first. JaPrince Gaines was the first Trojan to finish the race setting a new personal best of 27:46.4 with a 5:35.2 mile split, which placed him in first place of 10 competitors.
A place away came
Jalen Brownlee who finished in a time of 28:13.0 with a 5.40.5 split which shaved more than two minutes off his time from last week and placed him second .
Gabriel Miles finished his race with a time of 28:58.0, with a 5:49.6 mile split which gave him a third place finish as well as a personal record.
Dacarai Clark finished in seventh place after finishing in 31:30.7, with a 6.20.3 mile split which is more than two minutes faster than his time last week.
Savion Spencer finished his first 8k race of the 2022 season in 37:00.7 with a 7.26.7 mile split which gave him a 10
th place finish.
The Trojans Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams will be right back in Rogers stadium next week to host the Virginia State University Invitational on Friday, September 23 at approximately 5:15 p.m.
