ETTRICK, VA (Sept. 16, 2022) - The Virginia State University (VSU) men's and women's cross country teams are approaching their mid-season competition as they travel to Richmond later this week to compete in the Virginia Union University Cross Country Opener 5k on Friday, September 16. The meet will be hosted by Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia and is set to commence at 4:00 p.m.
Heading into this weeks meet, the VSU Women's Cross Country team is coming in hot after accomplishing a perfect score of 15 in the Virginia State University Fall Cross Country Opener last Friday where they competed in their first 5k race of the 2022 season.
Last time out,
Manuelene Deigh led the Trojans crossing the finish line in first place with a time of 21:26.6 with a 6:54.1 mile split which was also a personal best for her. Following not too far behind her was
Alandina Hyppolite, who finished in a time of 21:50.5 with a 7:01.8 split, placing her in second.
Miracle Price ran her first race as a Trojan and finished with a time of 22:13.6, with a 7:09.2 mile split, which placed her third.Â
