How It Happened
First Set | Early on in the first set, the two teams were neck and neck after a kill from Alexis McNair tied the score at 9-9. As the set went on, the Griffins made key plays to give themselves the lead 21-16 after three straight points. While the Trojans attempted to battle back, the Griffins capitalized off the mistakes of the Trojans to take the first set 25-17.

Second Set | The second set started abysmally for the Trojans after the Griffins jumped out to a 16-4 lead. The Trojans were able to cut the SHU lead down to single digits but the Griffins were able to hold on to the huge lead and close out the set 25-14.

Third Set | Much like set two, SHU got out to a demanding 9-1 lead. However, the Trojans were able to maintain their serve thanks to kills from Amaya Cooper and Emma Quarles to make the score 12-7. While the Trojans were able to cut the lead to as little as three points, the Griffins strung quite a few points together to bring the score to 20-13. The Griffins would go on to utilize a four-point run to end the set 25-16 and ultimately the match.
