LASKER, NC– The VSU Trojans golf team participated in the SAU Spring Invitational Monday, March 8.
The Trojans finished the invitational with a two round total of 716 as the Trojans took the overall second place finish. Virginia Union, finished in first place with a team stroke of 594, followed by Elizabeth City State with a third place team stroke of 746. St. Augustine's finished in fourth place with 928 strokes.
Juan Ruiz - Patino led VSU with a two round stroke of 152 (80 and 72), which allowed him to tie for fourth place individual finish.
Rounding out the standings for VSU was
Andrew Rhodes as he tied for eighth place with a total score of 179 (98 and 81), while
Esteban Arango Suarez finished ninth place with a total score of 180 (93 and 87) and
Simeon Sledge tied for 10
th with a total score of 190 (98 and 84).
The Trojans will step out onto the green again on Saturday, March 12 to compete in the Augustine Intercollegiate Invitational in Stafford, VA.
