ETTRICK, VA – The VSU Trojans Golf team placed second in the VSU Spring Classic on Thursday, March 24.
The Trojans finished the Classic with a two round total of 487 (324 and 163) which was their best two round total of the season. Virginia Union, finished in first place with a team stroke of 446, followed by St.Augustine's with a third place team stroke of 706.
Juan Ruiz - Patino led VSU with a two round stroke of 114 (77 and 37), which allowed him to place fourth of 15 golfers.
Andrew Rhodes finished in seventh place with a two round stroke of 124 (80 and 44).
Esteban Arango ended with a two round total of 125 (86 and 39) which placed him eighth while
Zahmel Wright was a place behind him in ninth with his 128 (81 and 47).
Simeon Sledge finished strong in 10
th place after posting a 133 (90 and 43).
The Trojans will travel up the road to Lakeside Park Golf Club in Richmond, Virginia to take place in the CIAA Northern Division Round-Up Monday, April 4
