MOUNT OLIVE, NC- The Virginia State University women's basketball team will return to action on Saturday, December 10 after competing in their last contest over one week ago. The Trojans will open their 4-game road tour with a 5pm matchup against the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive.

UMO is coming off of a win over Mars Hill University, moving them to the 4-4 season record. The Lady Trojans are averaging 61.3 points per game while allowing 59. They shoot 37% from the field, 24% from three-point range and 60% from the foul line. UMO averages 37 rebounds per game with 11.9 assists per game. They look to protect the ball averaging 15.5 turnovers per game while allowing opponents to score 12 points off turnovers. They have acquired 87 steals on the season along with 26 blocks. Laila Harris leads the Lady Trojans averaging 13.1 points per game and is ranked second on her team in rebounds, averaging 5.8. Harris leads the team in playing time, averaging 31 minutes, resulting in her leading the team in blocks for the season thus far (11).
