ETTRICK, VA – Virginia State Women's Basketball's, Kalyn Ervin, was recognized by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association as the Food Lion's Week #7 Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Ervin scored a game-high and career-high 23 points in the 69-64 win over Claflin which made the Trojans 2-1 in league play. The Indianapolis, IN native shot 5-of-7 (71%) from three-point range and 8-of-14 (57%) from the field. The junior also tallied five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Five assists also ties a season-high for the guard. This is her sixth straight game of scoring at least 14 points while also recording multiple steals in the contest.

Starting in just four games this season, Ervin is second on the team in points (121) and steals (28). She ranks 16th in the conference in points per game with 11.0, ties for 10th in three-pointers made with 13 and fourth in steals with 28.

The Trojans look to close the year of 2022 with a win as the squad prepares to play host to Barton on Saturday, December 31 with tip-off starting at 2:00 p.m.
