Darius Hagans of the Virginia State football team has accepted his invitation to the prestigious NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
The 2023 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl game will take place on January 28 and will continue its tradition of being played at the legendary Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA.
Hagans was a First Team All-CIAA selection in 2022.
Hagans led the rushing attack with a team-high 189 carries which led to 1,012 yards which ranked him second in the conference. He averaged 101.2 rushing yards per game and averaged 5.4 yards per carry. He has the longest running play of the season in the CIAA with an 86-yard touchdown run against Bluefield State which was also was a career long for him. He currently ties for 29th in the country in rushing yards.
Darius Hagans became to the first player in recent history to rush for more than 255 yards since Trenton Cannon back in 2017 as he ran for 261 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown.
Hagans has also accepted an invitation to participate in the Black College Football Hall of Fame HBCU Legacy Bowl.
Throughout his three-year career, Hagans compiled 2,069 rushing yards on 420 carries. He scored 17 touchdowns on the ground and five through the air.
In 2019, Hagans was named to the CIAA All-Rookie team.

Founded in 2012, the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl gives prospective players the best opportunity to showcase their talents to potential employers and fans. Nearly 200 scouts, player personnel staff, general managers and head coaches from all 32 NFL teams are expected be in attendance to watch live practices, conduct player interviews and review tape.
