Trojans Women's Basketball Rolls Over Lady Dragons 104-36

ETTRICK, VA – For the first time since 2017, the VSU Women's Basketball team broke 100 points after taking down Virginia University – Lynchburg 104-36. The Trojans shot a season-high 47% from the field along with a season-high 53 rebounds. The squad forced a remarkable 40 turnovers which led to 25 steals. VSU dished 30 assists as a team and had five player finish in double figures. The Trojans also had three players finish with double-digit rebounds as well. They shot 5-of-6 (83%) from beyond the three-point arc in the first quarter. The Trojans allowed just one Lady Dragon to finish in double figures as the team shot 27% from the field and 13% from beyond the three-point arc.
 
 
Kalyn Ervin exploded in the win as she accounted for a career-high 22 points off the bench on 10-of-20 (50%) from the field along with six rebounds, five assists and an epic eight steals. Raija Todd led the game with seven assists to compliment 15 points on 6-of-12 (50%) shooting from the field along with three steals. J'Auana Robinson went 3-of-4 (75%) from downtown as the sharpershooter finished going 4-of-7 (57%) from the field which led to a season-high 12 points in just five minutes before leaving the game due to injury. Trinity Moody scored a career-high 14 points on an efficient 7-of-10 (70%) shooting from the field with a career-high three rebounds and three steals along with a pair of assists. Kamani Jones led the team in the rebounding category after ripping down a career-high 11 rebounds while Kiana Walker recorded a career-high 10 rebounds in the contest and nearly recorded her firs double-double as she scored nine points in the win. Victoria Hinton also recorded a career-high 10 rebounds along with six points in the contest. Sommer Blakemore was a nightmare defensively yet again recording a season-high five steals and six assists. Blakemore scored 10 points along with four rebounds.

The Trojans will have a day to rest before starting a five-game road trip starting with a trip to Salem University on Tuesday, November 29. The matchup is set to tip-off at 2:00 p.m.
