ETTRICK, VA – Virginia State football's Linebacker,
Tyrone Fisher, was recognized by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association as the Food Lion's Week #5 Football Linebacker of the Week.
Fisher and his 14 tackles (two solo) led Virginia State in the 28-24 win over conference foe Shaw. The graduate student also had assisted on a tackle for a loss. The linebacker's 14 tackles are also a season-high for the Trojans defense. Nine of the South Hill, VA native's tackles resulted in gains of three or less yards for Shaw.

The Trojans will get to enjoy the win for a limited amount of time as they set their sights on a huge divisional matchup against Bowie State for homecoming starting at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8. The game will be broadcasted by PRC Communications on the CW Richmond.
