ETTRICK, VA -- Placing first in four of five meets this season, the Virginia State University (VSU) Women's Cross Country team looks for a strong showing on Thursday, October 27 in the Women's CIAA Cross Country Championship. The women will start their 5k race at 1:30 p.m. following the men's race. The conference championship meet will take place at Green Hill Park in Salem, Virginia.

The women are heading into this meet after earning their fourth straight first place finish after dusting the competition in the VUU Panther Cross Country Invitational on Friday, October 14. The Trojans scored 41 points with an average time of 29:12.

Reigning CIAA Women's Runner of the Week Manuelene Deigh crossed the finish line first of 27 runners for the fourth straight meet while also earning a huge personal best of 19:43.1.
A place away came
Alandina Hyppolite who finished in a time of 20:05.1 with a 6.27.8 which also gave her a new personal best.
Manuela Deigh finished her race in a personal record 20:12.3, with a 6:30.1 mile split which gave her a third place finish.
Shashauna Valentine also earned herself a personal record as she finished in fourth place after posting 20:38.6, with a 6:38.6 mile split.
Ruby Williams finished her race in 21:06.7 with a 6:47.7 mile split which gave her a fifth place finish and a new personal best.
Miracle Price concluded her race in 21:54.8 with a 7:03.1 mile split which placed her in ninth place.
