ETTRICK, V.A. – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) released on Monday the Food Lion Football Weekly Honors for Week Four.
The Trojans picked up two weekly honors after a strong performance by the VSU defense. Virginia State currently has three players who are near the top of the conference in tackles.
CIAA Defensive Lineman of the week,
Adonte Braxton wreaked havoc on the Fayetteville State offensive front posting 11 tackles (five solos), including four tackles for loss, and a sack. The senior from Greenville, NC also forced a fumble and registered a QB hurry in the Saturday evening matchup. Braxton is currently sixth in the conference in total tackles averaging 7.7 a game while also being fourth in tackles for loss with five on the season
Junior
Tyrone Fisher, South Hill, VA native and CIAA Linebacker of the Week, finished with 11 total tackles, including two solos, and recovered a fumble, returning it 77 yards for a touchdown in his first start of the season for the Trojans.

The Trojans will return to play on Saturday, October 2 to take on the Falcon of St. Augustine's University. Kick-off is set for 6pm at Rogers Stadium.
