ETTRICK, VA (September 25, 2021) – The Virginia State University Trojans finally return home after their long road game trips to face off against the Lincoln University Lions. The Trojans are coming off a victory against Bowie State, so they hope to extend their win streak.

The Trojans play their first home game on Monday, September 27 at 6pm after playing four straight road games.
Last Time Out
VSU dominated their last game against the Bowie State University Bulldogs on September 22. The Trojans won the first set convincingly at 25-19. They went on to win the next two sets for a clean sweep against the Bulldogs. Freshman
Helena Eubanks contributed big to the sweep by collecting an impressive game high 11 kills and 3 aces. Senior

Emma Quarles had a team high 18 assists to help propel the Trojans to their victory.
Series History
VSU comes home to take on a highly favorable matchup against the Lincoln University Lions by being undefeated against the Lion 16 win to 0 losses, winning the last matchup 3-0 in 2019.

The Lincoln University Lions are a D-II institution apart of the CIAA. The Lions are coming into this game with a 0-6 overall record. LUPA is led offensively by Haley Loper and Kaiya Lewis who combine for 60 kills. Defensively, the Lions are led by Mariah Webster who leads the team with 45 digs with an average of 2.50 digs per set.

The Trojans will be back on the road on October 2-3 for the first CIAA Roundup of the season, hosted by Winston-Salem State University. On day 1 VSU will matchup against Livingstone College at 9:00am and St. Augustine's University at 3:00pm.
